Dig4Hum

Digitalisation for the Humanities of the Future

2024-2027

As digital technologies increasingly shape all areas of society, the humanities have a crucial role to play — both in preparing graduates for a changing labour market and in contributing critical, humanistic perspectives to digital development. In line with broader efforts to modernise humanities education, Dig4Hum supports the ongoing integration of digitalisation in teaching and learning.

The project builds on previous initiatives (see DiCu) and focuses on three main areas: strengthening educators’ digital competences, expanding access to secure and supported digital tools through the UCloud infrastructure, and fostering dialogue and development among educational leaders.

Together, these efforts aim to extend capacities and infrastructures for a more digitally grounded humanities education across Danish universities.

Dig4Hum comprises two competency development programmes for Humanities educators from the five participating universities and a series of open webinars targeted educational leaders in Higher Education:

  • The Dig4Hum programme Spring 2026 & 2027 (for participants with no/limited experience with digital methods and tools)
  • The Dig4Hum residential workshop Autumn 2026 & 2027 (for participants with some experience with digital methods and tools)
  • The Dig4Hum webinars 2026 & 2027 (targeted educational leaders in the Humanities, but open to all)
